Anyone who has read C.O. for any length of time knows…we love us some Wombats, we do. So check out this Little Chubbular Dudette- this is Chloe, who we first met back in ‘Tocktober.
Quoting the ZooBorns article, Taronga Zoo keeper Evelyn Watson (those are her legs above) says “She’s really learning how to be a Wombat. Her paws are already toughening up and she’s quite happy digging about on her own.”

This tentacular wreath is the first of a few different Cthulhumas-related projects I’m working on this month. I’ve never made a wreath of any kind before, but after all the tentacles were painted and attached, along with a variety of vintage Christmas decorations, LEGO octopuses and LED lights, I’m pretty pleased by my monstrous creation.
I may have lost a little of my mind in the process, but it seems a worthwhile trade for dabbling in eldritch crafts.
Next I’ll be working on an updated version of my Cthulhumas tree. Stay tuned.

I painted LEGO octopuses to turn them into tiny Cthulhus, emerging from the tentacular wreath.
Its lights switched on, the wreath creature awakes. We’re all in trouble now.
Space, which represents humanity’s next unexplored frontier, can inspire a deep sense of awe in many of us. Some people are so in love with images of ringed planets, stars and nebulae to have them tattooed on them, and these cosmic tattoos are truly beautiful, so we wanted to highlight them in this post. Research into how dogs think is yielding some amazing results, although a lot of it just confirms what we already thought from behavior observation, but did not know for sure. What’s amazing is how its done. Imagine putting a dog in an MRI machine.
The most direct brain-based evidence that dogs are hopelessly devoted to humans comes from a recent neuroimaging study about odor processing in the dog brain. Animal cognition scientists at Emory University trained dogs to lie still in an MRI machine and used fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) to measure their neural responses to the smell of people and dogs, both familiar and unknown. Because dogs navigate the world through their noses, the way they process smell offers a lot of potential insight into social behavior.
The scientists found that dog owners' aroma actually sparked activation in the "reward center" of their brains, called the caudate nucleus. Of all the wafting smells to take in, dogs actually prioritized the hint of humans over anything or anyone else.
